With this project, you can control electrical appliances such as lamps remotely from anywhere in the world using SMS and the SIM800L module with Arduino. This project is also excellent in terms of security, meaning that when you define your own mobile number for the project, only you can send SMS to control the appliances. You can define up to 4 numbers for the project, and by editing the project code, you can define more mobile numbers for the project.
As you can see in the above image, we sent a text message to the number defined in the project, and it activated the relays. Then, the system sent a message back to the same number, indicating that the relays have been activated. This way, we receive confirmation that the relays have been successfully activated.
How to use electrical appliance control project with SMS SIM800L module
After completing the project, you need to write your own or anyone’s desired mobile number inside the project code. insert a SIM card into the SIM800L module, and make sure to charge that SIM card so that it can inform you via SMS whether the relays have been activated or not. Also, it is crucial to connect an antenna to the SIM800 module so that it can establish network connectivity much faster. You can solder the module’s own antenna to the antenna pin or use a GSM antenna and place it on the SIM800 antenna connector.
After completing all the above steps, you can easily control electrical appliances through SMS.
