This project is about motion detection and darkness detection using IC 555. With this project, you can detect darkness using an LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) which is a light-sensitive resistor, and you can detect motion using a PIR sensor (Passive Infrared Sensor). By connecting a lamp or any other device to the output, which is a relay, when the project detects something, it activates the output.

How to use the Motion Detection and Darkness Detection Project with IC 555

After building the project, you need to provide power to the circuit. The project requires a 12-volt power supply. However, you cannot use the PIR sensor and LDR simultaneously for the project to function properly. Using the blue potentiometer, you can select whether you want to use the PIR sensor or the LDR. There is another potentiometer on the project for adjusting the timer duration for the relay activation. This timer is specifically designed for the PIR module, and you can set the desired timing.

The PIR module has two potentiometers on itself. One is for sensitivity adjustment, and the other is for the activation timer of the module. I recommend turning the potentiometer for the timer all the way to the end to disable its functionality. It is better to use the potentiometer on the circuit board for this purpose. You can adjust the sensitivity of the PIR module using the potentiometer dedicated to sensitivity adjustment.

For the LDR component, make sure that the light from the lamp is not directly hitting the LDR in darkness. If the light from the lamp reaches the LDR, it may cause the relay to turn on and off. This issue is clearly demonstrated in the video of this project.
